Sooo many politicians get involved in kinky sex scandals.....Gary Condit (murder and bisexuality while wearing black biker leather), Larry Craig (sitting Senator, still battling an indecent exposure conviction for signaling for sex in a bathroom stall), Mark Foley (underage teenage sex with male Congressional pages), and now Eliot Spitzer (high priced prostitutes), but my favorite - the Jack Ryan sex scandal.   

"It was a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling," she said in the court document, adding that her husband "wanted me to have sex with him there, with another couple watching. I refused."

She said on arriving at the third club, in Paris, "people were having sex everywhere. I cried. I was physically ill. He became very upset with me and said it was not a turn on for me to cry."

If I had to rank his exhibitionism on a 1-to-10 kink scale, I'd give it a blasé 5.  I'd give her a 1.

This story is sad, bizarre, and serves as a huge caution to those who like to engage in what would be considered high-risk sexual behaviors. 

A PA woman died while allegedly engaging in kinky sex acts with her husband.

"...he hooks clips to his wife's nipples and "plugs the cord into a electric strip" and shocks her....she removed her clothes, attached the clips, and shocked herself. He then picked up the electric strip and shocked her several more times, adding that he had placed a piece of electric tape over her mouth during the jolts. After the last shock, Kirsten, 29, "fell over on to her face." Taylor initially thought his wife was joking, but quickly realized she was unconscious."

He initially told the police (after dressing her) that she shocked herself with her blow dryer, then when his story din't hold up, he came clean and is now charged with manslaughter. 

Here's another story (fewer details) of a woman who also died while engaging in kinky sex.....this time it wasn't electrocution but sadomasochistic (SM) sex using "very particular" accessories....she died of a heart attack.   The article doesn't say whether he was ultimately charged with criminal negligence.

Doesn't it seem like if the people choose to have sex like this, kinky or whatever, that the other person involved should NOT be charged with a crime?  It's 2 consenting adults after all, and there's no law prohibiting them from doing what they're doing in the privacy of their home.....if there's evidence that the other person was negligent and took it too far, then maybe yeah a crime has been committed but it seems like they're a little too trigger happy with charging these people with a "crime."

According to this YouTube clip and this FCC commissioner, if the content of a piece of work aired on the public domain has "artistic or factual merit," it is not considered "obscene."

But if it lacks this "artistic or factual merit" and is simply a publicity stunt like the Janet Jackson event which lacks social value, it IS obscene....

First of all, who the heck thinks Alyson Hanigan is hot?  Second, who is the taste arbiter that determines if something has artistic or factual merit?  Isn't that totally subjective?
