Wow, the end of the summer has been really busy.  I guess, technically it's the beginning of fall, but whatever.  We have more products to upload over the next couple weeks, and then we'll be adding a few more custom latex and vinyl items for this fall and halloween.  We have some great orange latex that we'll be using.

Todays post is a super cute girl wearing a pvc dress with latex bra on under it.  While I'm not a huge fan of mixing and matching pvc with latex, the girls cuteness makes up for any fashion faux pas.  If there is anything that readers of this blog would like to see this fall (panties, dresses, gowns, your own desings etc.), we'd love to hear from you.

The majority of the races that you see in latex fetish are caucasian (predominantly), asian (the Japanese have some kink), and every once in awhile black.  You don't see many latino fetishists - I wonder why that is? 

I could be wrong, but when I look at this picture the woman in the red latex outfit and patent leather boots looks hispanic.  I'm imagining that this image was shot in California, where there's a much heavier population of hispanics, and this girl is probably an amature model who decided to take a trip down fetish lane.

Any comments as to why some cultures / races are more heavily involved in fetish clothing and pictures than others?

Included in todays posting is a picture of a girl clubbing in a latex halter top and skirt.  I would guess that both items were handmade by her as I've never seen them in another latex clothing store.

While I'm not in the clubs as much as I used to be, I have to admit that in the U.S. you don't see much latex or vinyl in clubs.  I guess part of the reason is that fetish clothing is much less well known.  You can't go to your local mall or boutigue clothing store and pick up something in latex.

As a matter of fact, in Fla. there is a store built around a fetish club, since the patrons didn't have anywhere to get their clothing.  I believe it's called Fetish Factory in Tampa.  In D.C. they used to have two stores that carried fetish fashions - Dream Dresser and a sex shop in Georgetown.

Dream Dresser lost it's location to a Hookah bar, but I beleive it is still in business via mail order and over the web.  Actually, after a quick web search it looks like Dream Dresser is no longer around. 

This vinyl corset fits so well it almost looks as though the girl may have altered it for a custom fit.  It looks like one of those off-the-shelf one-size-fits-most pvc corset that you can pick up anywhere.  Typically they fit ok if you have a standard body type, but they don't usually fit perfect. 

My blog topics are usually positive and I don't bitch or rip people too much, but I feel like crap and it's a Monday.  While I think tattoos and body modifications and jewelry make for great photos and art, this girls nose ring slash earring chain looks like a giant black string of snot.  Maybe it's the color.  Gold, silver, or another metallic color would have been fine, but the black string of beads going from her nose to ear makes it look like a case of snotty eboli.

At least weekly I talk about the direction of the website with my closest confidants.  Some say the clothing sales have failed because Hedonsfair has failed to achieve good rankings with the search engines.  Others have told me that only 1/2 of our product pictures are decent - you have to have hotter pictures to sell clothing.

I've also heard that people in North America just don't buy and wear rubber clothing.  All the other North American fetish retailers are doing it part time and nobody is making that much money.  I've also heard that we don't have good enough designs. 

We sell products by lip service, latex by kunzman, and XTC NY in addition to our own designs, and none of it sells, so I can only assume that the problems are not product design.  I think we have failed with the search engines, but I continue to work on it.  

It could be that there's just not enough people who wear rubber clothing and purchase it.  If that is the case, how do I move forward with this website?  I don't want to shut it down, but at the same time we need to innovate to start making any money. 

Ebay is one direction we will be moving this fall.  All of our current stock of clothing will be sold via auction and we will see how that does.  Ebay solves the problem of not getting enough eyeballs on our clothing.  However, even if that works - I don't need hedonsfair to sell clothing on ebay - why keep the website?

I was considering a volunteer driven search engine for all things alt / fetish.  How many fetishists are there in the world?  Would they be willing to pay $9.99 a month to do a search for a patent vinyl boot in the mudd on a cloudy day being worn by a blonde?  Let's be honest - google won't find you results that specific.  The question is - does anyone want that and would they be willing to pay for such specific results?

What about giving away everything for free?  Vvideos, images, stories of rubber clothing and fetish things, all the content we have here plus more - available for free, in return we would sell advertising.  Not the crappy google adwords advertising but signup advertising similar to what 3XL does on his blog.  Problem is - how much can you make doing that?  $200 a month?  Well, it is what it is.  Other than porn, I don't know how you make money with a fetish website, and I'm not resorting to that.

Here we have an average photo shot by a complete amature, probably around halloween, or for some kind of costume party.  No idea where I found this one - probably floating around Myspace or something.

I want to talk about what I find particularly hot about this photo.  First - the girl is super cute.  Asian girl-next-door type of look, and being that I'm of the majority race here in the US, I definitely find minorities to be a bit exotic and therefore more sexual and attractive perhaps that your run of the mill white girl.

Super cute face, great body - can't fail to mention that.  Everything is proportionately how it should be.  The facial expression also contributes to my love of this shot.  She's smiling and having fun - seeing happy people makes the viewer feel a similar level of happiness.

Next, notice the black banded choker around the neck of our asian pvc nurse.  It doesn't seem like it's part of the outfit, probably something that she wears regardless of the costume.  I love chokers.  They emphasize the neck and impart a degree of submissiveness - like she would like to get tied up - is that reading too much into it?

Checkout the rings on her fingers, the labret piercing and what also looks to be a tongue piercing.  All of these details signify to us that she is alternative, but they are not too over the top.  I love the contrast of the girl-next-door face / hair and look of this girl, combined with the alternative rings, choker, and piercing.  She's open minded, she's fun, she's alternative - the complete package.

Oh - and let's not forget - she's wearing a vinyl nurse costume - ymmm....Totally hot - and despite the amature nature of the shot - I give it a 9.5 on my hotness scale.

When I look at this picture I am immediately struck without hesitation with the thought that this is a rock-n-roll chick.  Probably the member of a band whose genre is hard-rock, industrial, metal, goth, whatnot. 

What makes me feel that way?  Let's take a deeper look.  The outfit contributes heavily to my opinion that this could be a singer.  Black shiny vinyl halter top and vinyl jeans - the O-ring black patent leather belt is also a popular item that you typical see singers wear onstage.

It's appearance is that of a "stage" outfit.  What are the characterstics of such?  Well, it's not something that you see everyday.  It stands out - it's ostentacious.  It doesn't come across as fetish per se, but it does come across as "hard", "edgy", flashy.

Put this girl in an outfit that isn't vinyl or leather-look, and my opinion would completely change.  If those were black cotton stretch pants and the girl had a look a little bit less "dark" you would think exercise instructor or maybe hip hop dancer.  Leather and vinyl outfits are typical as stage outfits because of their sheen and rarity among everyday wear.  The singer is supposed to be the focal point of the stage, and this outfit would achieve just that.

I see so much creativity within the alternative and fetish genre's of clothing.  Anytime I look at the big name designers they always seem to be ripping something from the little guys.  It's ashame that what we want (or what most of us want) is dictated by the big powerful firms / media / money.

I think that is starting to change a little bit.  Companies like threadless.com bring a certain level of democratization to fashion.  Designers from all over get to make and sell their wares, not some big corporate machine.

People are starting to desire to have a "custom" or more "individual" look instead of the cookie cutter clothes that pervade the malls.  We'll see how far that goes. 

I liked this shot for the creativity infused into the fashions.  I'm not necessary in love with anything else from the shot.  The clasps on the leggings, and the bow on the armwamer are a very different touch, great imagination.

Weddings are a day where fashion is very important.  Everybody has a designated outfit that conveys something to everyone else attending the event.  In the West brides wear white, and have a dress more ornate than the bridesmaids.  Grooms wear black, and aren't that distinguishable from the groomsmen.

The bride is supposed to be the focal point of the entire event.  The color white serves several purposes - the eye focues on white before black or darker colors, symbolically white stands for innocense and purity. 

While in Cali my GF thought it would be a great idea to drive over to Vegas and elope.  I countered that it would be a great idea if we could have a "fetish" wedding and find a white latex wedding gown for her to wear. 

Yeah - that didn't happen - logistically I don't think I would have been down for the drive even if she had agreed.  Regardless, how do you feel about incorporating fetish elements into a wedding?  I think that I am going to have to find a white pvc garter or latex leg garter as a small symbol of our unique relationship :)

This picture reminds me of one of my favorite fantasies.  I will readily admit that I get a thrill out of latex in public - preferably someone else wearing it.  I've done it myself, but can't say that I found it to be but only a mild turn on.  However, put my girlfriend in a latex skirt, bikini, etc. and I find it to be the pinnacle of sexiness and desire.

Decking her out in a full head to toe latex catsuit doesn't do it - that's too circus-like.  Too bizarre and over the top.  I think my favorite is a "sprinkling" of fetish attire here or there.  To be more specific - a vinyl bikini top with board shots for a walk down the beach, or a latex pencil skirt paired up with a conservative white button up for a drink at the bar.  Stretch vinyl workout capris paired up with a gym t-shirt for an afternoon workout.  You get the idea.

Yesterday night my GF was perusing my  blog and pointed out that I love transparent and black latex - yes I do :)  Getting to the point - transparent latex underneath clothing - either mixed in with traditional garb or even more fetish wear like here - totally hot!!!

How about a low cut blouse that reveals a transparent clear latex tub top underneath - similar to this picture.  Maybe an ankle skirt matched up with transparent stockings or tights, that are hardly noticable.  Another idea - a one-peice bathing suit from transparent and black latex, with transparent shoulders, back, and stripe through the middle - hmmm, it is summer...
