This picture reminds me of one of my favorite fantasies.  I will readily admit that I get a thrill out of latex in public - preferably someone else wearing it.  I've done it myself, but can't say that I found it to be but only a mild turn on.  However, put my girlfriend in a latex skirt, bikini, etc. and I find it to be the pinnacle of sexiness and desire.

Decking her out in a full head to toe latex catsuit doesn't do it - that's too circus-like.  Too bizarre and over the top.  I think my favorite is a "sprinkling" of fetish attire here or there.  To be more specific - a vinyl bikini top with board shots for a walk down the beach, or a latex pencil skirt paired up with a conservative white button up for a drink at the bar.  Stretch vinyl workout capris paired up with a gym t-shirt for an afternoon workout.  You get the idea.

Yesterday night my GF was perusing my  blog and pointed out that I love transparent and black latex - yes I do :)  Getting to the point - transparent latex underneath clothing - either mixed in with traditional garb or even more fetish wear like here - totally hot!!!

How about a low cut blouse that reveals a transparent clear latex tub top underneath - similar to this picture.  Maybe an ankle skirt matched up with transparent stockings or tights, that are hardly noticable.  Another idea - a one-peice bathing suit from transparent and black latex, with transparent shoulders, back, and stripe through the middle - hmmm, it is summer...

Last night I had my GF try on a metallic blue one-piece swimsuit that with white trim and full rear zipper in white.  Wish I had thought to grab the camera so I could post a few pics.  Regardless, we got into a discussion about why I liked latex.

To sum up, I would say it's the look and the feel.  The feel is stretchy, skin-like, different, soft, silky, sensual, etc.  The look, especially that of metallics, can't be replicated in any other medium. 

What stretch fabric do you know of, that has such shimmer,  or the metallic property like that of latex.  Silk comes closest, but, it still doesn't rival the metallic and reflective properties of latex. 

Take this pic for example.  The metallic blue is a great example of a color that enhances any skin tone, from darker to yellow, greenish, or pale - the metallic colors emphasize the eyes and contrast with the delicate nature of the skin.

Spring is officially here as it was hot as hell this past weekend.  I was in the city and my apartment complex hadn't turned on the AC yet - talk about sweltering!

I'm back from Cali this week.  Have to say that I'm suffering from some melancholy.  San Francisco is so beautiful.  The hills, the bay, the architecture - it's just amazing!  I did a ton of sight seeing while I was there.

Drove through Napa Valley, saw the Redwoods at Muir Woods, drove through Pebble Beach and 17 mile drive.  Stayed at the Wharf over the weekend.  It was really touristy, not much to comment on there, but did have lunch at a Diner in Ghiradelli Square that overlooked the bay - excellent view!!

Sat. night we tried to venture out to some fetish clubs with no luck.  GF wore a latex Cheongsam dress, which was smoking hot.  Really ashamed that we didn't find a location worth going to, but alas, there's always next time.  I was surprised that fetish clubs were so hard to find.  Seems like San Fran would have more going on, other than the Fetish Ball and other one-time events.

Releasing the blogs, advice column, product storylines, and also having Mosh as our promotional fetish model, has driven our number of visitors up 10x from what is was last year.  That's a huge increase.

Unfortunately, sales of pvc and latex clothing have not followed that 10x increase.  Granted, we haven't been working on the product line, so there isn't much new stuff to buy, but I figured that more people visiting the site would result in more sales of current inventory. 

This picture illustrates how I feel about hedonsfair right now - kind of melancholy.  Alas, Americans don't have much use for latex or pvc fashions it seems.  However, I get constant requests from models and photographers to give them free gear.  So, by the end of the summer or by Fall of '08 we will be switching to a new revenue model: rental fetish clothing.

Instead of selling our garmets, they will be available for rent.  Photographers and models will be able to use the gear for significantly less than the purchase price.  After 3 rentals, the clothing will be sold at a much reduced price, throught the website or ebay.

Why is it that latex and PVC are so closely related to BDSM?  Is it that people with a preference for BDSM also have a preference for latex and vinyl clothing, or is it that people who like latex and vinyl fashions are also open minded and enjoy BDSM? 

Would it be that these types of people are just alternative and into alternative cultures so that alternative bedroom behavior go hand in hand, or is there some sort of historical association between BDSM and PVC and latex?  Could it be that people have seen these things related and associate these things with each other? 

I think the alternative clothing goes hand in hand with BDSM because to dress in Mr. Rogers cardigan and loose fit blue jeans would look ridiculous.  Latex and PVC all carry this naughty, dark and sexy connotation which fits perfectly into the BDSM scene.  We welcome your comments. 

Latex and fetish fabrics have a "bad" or "naughty" or "hardcore" connotation associated with them.  When the lay person things about leather or latex clothing they probably imagine a dark basement dungeon where a serious looking dominatrix punishes a client wearing shiny thigh high patent leather boots and a tight latex minidress with spikes and chains.

However, fetish fashions don't have to be about domination, power, and giving off a "tough" vibe.  They can be soft and gentle, sensual instead of pornographic, loving instead of dominating.  Stereotypes were made to be broken.

One of the many ways to give a softer look to fetish fashions is through the use of color - instead of the typical black, red, and white power colors, we can use pastel pink, blue, yellow and softer pallettes.

The design of the garmet can also greatly change the feeling and look that the garmet conveys.  One of my favorite designs is the ruffle.  Large ruffles at the bottom of knee skirts, small ruffles on panties or at the collar of a latex v-neck shirt.  Ruffles at the wristband of a pair of vinyl gloves - there are so many uses and they all lead to a look of softness, elegance, sensuality.

Transparent latex, some people love it, some don't really like it.  If the goal is to cover up the body in an effort to leave mystery and create excitement, then transparent latex fails.  You can see right through it to what lies beneath.

However, if taboo-ness of latex is what turns you on, then transparent latex is probably another degree out of the ordinary than opaque latex colors.  It is more bizarre and more risque.  It raises the level of naughtiness.

Further, the idea of a "second-skin" is achieved to a greater degree.  There is more of a "morphing" effect from transparent latex, as the purpose of typical clothing is to conceal and protect.  Since trans latex does neither it's purpose as clothing is confused.  The reason for wearing it becomes more to transpose the body of the wearer - either visually or by it's feeling.

Art is subjective, it is open to interpretation.  Everyone has ideas as to what constitutes a good image, painting, drawing.  In regards to creating erotic images of latex and pvc, I think that less is more.  

Sometimes I prefer an amaturish image, which conveys a feeling of "realness", versus the completely photoshoped and perfected image where a professional model was used, her flaws cleansed with hours of editing, and the lighting coming from artificial strobes.

I particularly liked the series below with the latex stockings and latex garter, because of what it lacks.  The imagination is left to run wild, and figure out what was going on.  What the person looked like, what they were doing or getting ready to do.  Was it a professional model and photographer or someone less skilled snapping pics of a friend or lover.

American Apparel is an edgy company whose website features images of young people in amaturish pictures, often pushing the envelope of what almost feels like softcore images.  Do these types of images help sell a product, or would professional, defect-free images sell a product better?

Last night GF came over after work.  We had plans to go to the gym, but instead went home and gelled out.  I had a worker stop by for a couple hours to finish up some new latex panty designs.  Around 9:00 I had GF try them on to see if they fit.

The pair I had made were created with her measurements in mind, and it was important to me to ensure the fit was correct.  She tried them on, and I inspected.  Perfection!  Plus, she left them on for another hour until it was time to retire for the night.  I love my girlfriend :)
